Humble sloths or simply sloths are species of arboreal xenarthrans which lived within the Croodaceous Time Period.
Etymology[]
The humble sloth just shares its name with the modern species of Sloth's.
Anatomy[]
Head-The head of the Humble sloth is ovular in shape and is much larger when compared to the rest of its body. They possess a short muzzle tipped with a thick black nose pad above a small thin mouth filled with flat teeth. They possess a small pink tongue inside their mouths as well.
Eyes-They possess large eyes with barely visible white sclera, green or blue irises, and black pupils.
Ears-They possess no visible ears however are shown to be able to hear.
Body-Their body is rectangular seemingly possessing no neck at all. Their forelimbs where similar to that of the modern Three Toed Sloth as they possess three long curved claws, however they also seemingly possess much more flexible limbs possibly due to a more complex skeletal system of the arm as they can bend around round objects with ease and bend around it as well as stretch with an amount of elasticity unlike that of modern Sloths. Their forelimbs are also longer than their hindlimbs unlike modern Sloths. While shorter these hindlimbs also possess a similar amount of flexibility and they can hook their fore and hind feet together.
Pelt-The males possess shaggy stringy fur similar to modern Sloths with shorter fur around the face with longer fur around its face which flow backwards. The females possess a similar fur type on the face however the rest of their pelt is seemingly much softer and fluffier.
Coloration-Male Humble Sloths possess a red coloration throughout the body with the exception of the face which is a tannish brown with dark brown markings on around the eyes and muzzle similar to the Three Toed Sloth. The females possessed a nearly uniform pink throughout the body aside around the eyes and muzzle which was a much darker pink.
Height-The Humble Sloth reached a height of 6-10 Inches(15-25 Centimeters).
Weight-The Humble Sloth weighed around 5 Pounds(5.3 Kilograms).
Habitat[]
In the wild the Humble Sloth lived high up in trees within the Jungles of the Croodaceous Time Period however many found much more success living alongside Homo Sapiens and where one of the few early domesticated animals, being used to hold up clothing or aid them in their plans or even just act as a traveling companion.
Behavior[]
Unlike modern Sloths they where highly social and not afraid of Homo Sapiens and would be found living with other members of its species or alongside people. They where highly intelligent and could even use the tools made by the people they lived with, being highly loyal and willing to defend them or themselves. Due to most sloths being ectothermic animals and requiring their environment to be warm to be able to survive they may have depended on Homo Sapiens in order to maintain a comfortable temperature.
Diet[]
The Humble Sloth was a much more opportunistic feeder than modern Sloths as they would eat leaves and sweet fruits rather than just algae.
Predators[]
There are no known predators of the Humble Sloth aside from that of the Neanderthal as their close relationship with Homo Sapiens may have provided them shelter and defense from most predators.
Abilities[]
High Intelligence-Unlike the modern Sloth the Humble Sloth exhibits an extreme amount of intelligence, being able to not only understand human language, formulate plans of action, use tools, but also communicate with both Homo Sapiens and Neanderthals.
Vocalization-Unlike modern Sloths the Humble Sloth was able to produce multiple vocalizations and even express emotions with these sounds, even being able to carry a tune.
High Stamina-The Humble Sloth possessed an extreme amount of stamina shown by the fact they can hold onto objects such as a Homo Sapien's waist for immense amounts of time even with them moving at high speeds or generally being very active or being thrown around.
High Strength-Even though they where straining themselves it was shown that at least one individual was able to roll a fully grown Homo Sapien in a log many times larger than its own size.
Relatively High Athletisism-Unlike modern Sloths the Humble Sloth has been shown to move quite fast comparatively, as well as move around quickly in general and express themselves and react quickly, to the point they can relatively keep up with Homo Sapiens.
Elasticity-Their arms can stretch similar to pulling a seatbelt over you allowing them to act similarly to a trip rope.
In The Movie[]
One individual of the species took a staring role within the movie and serves as a mascot for the series named Belt.
In the new movie a female version of the species named Sash is due to take a staring role as well.

Trivia[]
- Unlike other species of sloth who possess a grey coloration and gain a green one over time due to algae that grows in their hair neither individual of the species within the movies possess any form of algae growth at all. This algae grows on sloths due to their hairs being hollow allowing them to fill with water and become fertilized by a species of moth which lives specifically on sloths putting its droppings within this water allowing for the algae to grow. This is possibly due to humans keeping the animals relatively clean or generally keeping the moths that would do this away or even the sloths lacking hollow hairs or the moths simply not existing.
